EP/A’s main goal was to create a landscape that acted as an extension of the house. EP/A worked closely with the building’s architect in order to seamlessly integrate the landscape with the building. In order to see that goal realized, the landscape materials mimic the ones used in the house, hardscape items were strategically placed to flow out into the gardens, and outdoor spaces were skillfully created to offer comfort and enjoyment. In order to create a unique landscape that is full of surprise and enjoyment, the design artfully creates a variety of views and integrates interesting plant and hardscape materials. The finishing touches to the landscape were made by EP/A’s attention to detail such as the granite cobblestone driveway laid in a fish scale pattern, the boardwalk built around existing palm trees, and the pierced brick walls running throughout the gardens. Not just making another estate, but creating a family heirloom was the dream of the homeowner. That dream was realized in the house and landscape of the residence.
